AVASSA, our yearly fashion showcase, is a platform for the exceptional design talents graduating from our esteemed institute. This prestigious event features collections designed by our graduating students, giving them a chance to shine and launch their creative visions on the runway.

More than just a runway, AVASSA goes beyond a typical fashion show. It serves as a culminating experience for our students, equipping them with the skills to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. By participating in events like AVASSA, students gain invaluable experience in design realisation, collection development, and the fashion industry as a whole.

ISFT Students Assist in Miss World 2024 with Archana Kochhar

The prestigious Miss World competition returned to India in March 2024 after 28 years . Adding to the national pride, renowned fashion designer Archana Kochhar was chosen as the official designer for the event’s 71st edition. This presented a unique opportunity for students enrolled in fashion design at ISFT.

Archana Kochhar, known for her stunning Indo-western creations, designed outfits for all 112 contestants participating in the Miss World pageant. ISFT fashion design students played a crucial role in assisting her throughout the process. They gained invaluable experience working alongside a celebrated designer, contributing to the creation of the show-stopping ensembles. Beyond design assistance, ISFT students also participated in managing backstage activities during the grand event. This provided them with firsthand exposure to the fast-paced world of fashion shows and the meticulous organization required for a successful production.

Archana Kochhar at Bombay Times Fashion Week 2022 with Stunning Collection

Renowned designer Archana Kochhar made a splash at the prestigious Bombay Times Fashion Week 2022. Her captivating collection captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression on the fashion scene.The talented designer received valuable backstage support from fashion design students of the esteemed ISFT College. This collaboration between industry leader Archana Kochhar and future fashion stars from ISFT College proved to be a winning formula.

Gain Industry Insights at the Renowned CMAI National Garment Fair

The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) organizes India’s most respected trade fair, the CMAI National Garment Fair, twice a year. This premier event connects national and regional brands, apparel and fashion accessory manufacturers, and designers with Indian retailers and their distribution channels, including importers, high-street retailers, agents, distributors, and e-commerce companies.
The CMAI National Garment Fair is an invaluable learning experience for fashion design students like yourselves. Every year, students from institutes like ISFT visit the fair with their faculties to gain valuable insights into the textile industry, an integral part of fashion design. Witnessing the latest trends, networking with industry professionals, and understanding the business aspects of apparel manufacturing provide a well-rounded perspective for aspiring fashion designers.

NMIMS College with Tropical Fashion at Drishti Annual Event

Drishti annual event, the extravaganza of NMIMS College, turned up the heat with a vibrant inter-college fashion show. Students channeled their creativity, designing and showcasing collections inspired by the captivating allure of tropical islands. The event saw a dazzling display of fashion, with students transforming fabrics into stunning outfits that embodied the essence of island paradises.

Kala Ghoda Arts Festival: A Celebration of Art, Culture, and Heritage in Mumbai

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, named after the historical equestrian statue of Edward VII (Kala Ghoda), is an annual extravaganza that transforms Mumbai into a vibrant hub of creativity. Held each year on the first Saturday of February and culminating on the second Sunday, the festival brings together over 300 programmes across 14 different art forms.

Spanning over 25 venues in the Kala Ghoda precinct, the festival offers a multi-sensory experience for art enthusiasts and aspiring artists alike. Immerse yourself in visual arts, witness captivating dance performances, and be enthralled by melodious music. Explore the world of theater, delve into insightful literature discussions, and embark on heritage walks through Mumbai’s historic streets.

The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is not just about artistic expression; it’s a celebration of Mumbai’s rich culture and heritage. Learn about urban design and architecture, enjoy side-splitting stand-up comedy routines, and indulge in delectable cuisine from various food stalls. This annual event serves as a source of inspiration for students, particularly those pursuing careers in fashion design. ISFT College at Maharashtra Mahotsav

ISFT College recently participated in the Maharashtra Mahotsav held at ND Studios, Karjat. This grand celebration of Maharashtrian culture provided a perfect platform for ISFT students to showcase their creativity and design expertise.

A highlight of ISFT’s participation was a special workshop conducted by the college’s fashion design students. The workshop focused on the art of draping Paithani sarees, an essential element of Maharashtrian attire.

ISFT’s interior design students also left their mark on the Maharashtra Mahotsav. They took the initiative to design and decorate the college’s display area, incorporating vibrant colors, traditional motifs, and elements that reflected the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra. This creative space served as a visual treat for visitors, immersing them in the spirit of the Maharashtrian celebration.

ISFT College’s participation in the Maharashtra Mahotsav not only served as a tribute to the state’s vibrant culture but also provided a valuable learning experience for its students. By showcasing their design skills in a real-world setting, the students gained valuable exposure and honed their ability to translate cultural influences into creative design expressions.

InfoComm India: A Hub for Innovation and a Platform for Fashion Design Students at NESCO exhibition

Infocomm India, a leading exposition for the pro-AV and Info-Comm industry, is renowned for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and solutions. The event featured a captivating club lounge designed by ISFT College students, putting their design talents under the spotlight.

For the past four years, ISFT has been entrusted with designing the club lounge, providing students with a unique live project. In the year 2022 the theme celebrated India’s rich textile heritage in conjunction with the country’s 75th Independence Day. Students incorporated traditional textiles from various Indian states, creating a visually stunning and culturally significant space.

The lounge boasted an innovative photo booth, a live gift counter showcasing traditional fashion accessories, and a prop counter featuring ethnic design elements. This project provided ISFT students with invaluable hands-on experience, allowing them to translate their design skills into a captivating reality.
